My folks were living in a modified BOQ like that when I was born a month late. They almost made it, in a company jeep, to the base infirmary (Ft. Benning), before I arrived. They diverted to a barracks until an ambulance could meet them there, and I was born on an army blanket in an SFC's quarters. My mother said after 10 months, she couldn't care less. When I applied to Annapolis, I had to have my birth certificate changed because it had too many witnesses. No 2-page birth certificates allowed.
By the way, at Benning, the buildings were all yellow and brown clapboard.
