Started work on the flyovers...



I cut out a cardboard template that spanned the distance between ends then used it to cut the MDF that fit in that space. Doing so allowed me to draw out the lanes on the MDF in preparation for the routing.




Not sure if that was the best way to do it but is seemed to work for me. Here is another flyover...







At this point, all of the track is connected and is secured to the framework below...







No it is time for some filling and sanding...

Before I start on painting the track I thought it might be a good idea to start work on the barriers. Here is what I have done so far. Started with gluing blocks of wood on to the underside of the track so the MDF bender board I am using would have something to screw into.







For the corners that are too tight for the bender board, I am using some vinyl trim that I found at Lowe's. Only tricky thing about screwing these into the side of the 3/8 MDF is that you have to find the center of the MDF with the screw...

Great looking track.One gets a lot more track length with 2 lanes.

Finished the work on most of the barriers....the driver's stations will be off to the left



Built a little stand (on the left) where the monitor will sit...





Put two coats of primer in the slots...



Two coats of primer on the track...



Got the slots painted...





Hopefully I will get the track painted in the next few days...

Hey! Really nice layout! TWO overpasses! One was enough for me! :) But they look good! I used the same type of plastic moldings for the barriers. They work good, but it can be a challenge to find the middle of the MDF, like you said. Short screws are the ticket... ;)

Looking forward to more pictures. Great job so far!
