My first experience with a routed track was back in the mid 60's when a friend of my dad routed a 2 lane track 4'X16' it was a blast back then....
Then the late 80's came and I helped a track owner redo this track, I was already a self employed cabinet maker, still am...
That was a fun track, especially when we did the Nascar series that lasted for 2-3 months..I forget...And that was my first and only experience of race in a group 27 race...
Then later early 90's I built my first track a little 4 lane... The doughnut was Formica covered and the rest was melamine surface..That doughnut was 3/4'' particle board and a bear to get it into shape...
Then this one in a friend's basement mid 90's... We ran a lot of 4 1/2'' nastrucks on this one ..the ss were really great....
Then I built a try oval 4 lane for the beer can wing sprints which there is no photos.. and built a try oval for Rick Weld...
And the last track I built was made to take apart and took up a 9' X 16' space..I built it in the late 90's and had it in storage until 2006...Then sold it...
Now I am leaning toward a modular system that could be set up into different layouts....
These are 3 1/2' X 7' sections I drew out a few yrs back...But now will change them to a 3 lane ...
The only drawback is its limited to flat track..... and no overpasses....
