Very nice track, you definitely have a vision of what you wanted your track to look like. And by all accounts your nailing it great job. Im just starting some scenery on my track you are an inspiration.
My two cents... I still have a hard time with most of the track plans I see and this one isn't much different. I guess Ihave such a different perspective than most of the HRW guys that this is kind of natural. I race a lot of "scale" 1/24 cars on some big home tracks and at a commercial track. I like to run on a fairly simple track design that lets you run lap after lap side by side without de-slotting. I'd have a hard time with many of the track plans I see here. It could be I am not a good driver, but this difference does exist..
My other cent...you have done a super job and attention to detail on wiring and stuff that doesn't show is amazing. I envy the patience you have to build as you have and do such a great job. The quality of work you do borders on artistic. All you guys understand this. My skill set allows me to build stuff in a journeyman way, while some of you guys build to such a level that you actually have artistic skill. Without bragging, you should never sell short your building skills.
Now tell us a bit about your basement, the walls and the tree growing in the middle of it...
Hi Troy, since its not Garden tractor season, I will be down from Canada to visit big brother Don in a couple weeks. I have to pick up some track I bought from Harry too. Maybe Don and I can trip over and have a look at this masterpiece. All the best Bob
The rock outcroppings are very realistic, and something I'd like to do where I have elevation changes on my road course. Is there a post showing how to do this? What did you use to shape them (out of foam or plaster)? I purchased a few molds to use, but don't know how to get that much natural variation in the rock formations. Plus, how they're painted is also amazing.
Having been to Lancaster, PA a number of times over the years ( a favorite travel destination of the motorcycle club I belonged to), I think of that area as having a rich history with railroads and model railroading. Did some of the skill I see in this track and scenery come from model railroading?
Looking Great Troy. You have the talent sir. btw arriving at Big Ds on the 19th fri. Leaving on the morning of the 23rd tues Hope we can get together. Bob
