I want to design an MDF routed track. Can't seem to find anything in the "search"
I want to work with the parameters of 4 lanes in 12 feet by 25 to 30 feet. I am sure I saw tutorials on HRW on track design but can't locate them.
Can anyone re-direct me please?

Next, read through the threads here in the The Lumber Yard forum. After that, save pages, take notes and make sketches.

If you are going for a track that is 12 feet wide be aware that you can only reach about 4 feet. You could design a layout where cars are not likely to crash where they are not easy to reach or do something that is more like a commercial 1/24th track. If you have to use grabbers to retrieve your cars you will probably get tired of doing that.

All good advice so far, especially on tiring of using a grabber as well as the marshaling reach (although I use more 30” as a comfortable reach for a marshal)...and note, the higher the table the reach area decreases.

The best part that I took away when I was first starting from the BSCRA site is the driver sightlines and marshal positions - something I’ve found most folks starting out often overlook in their designs.

Agree on the sight lines and marschalling.
I am short, so my table is only 30" or so, and I can reach from either side but it's only 7.5' × 9ft so compact.
With any more than 2 lanes it's very important to locate the driver's stations.

Luf's site has lots of interesting tracks. I personally value flow over maximizing running length (too many loops and back and forth for me) but to each their own.

Just remember that it's just a piece of wood and a slot car track, it can be changed if you don't like it.
