what happens after you get into the final lane, is it all over, do you just continue running in the 3rd lane, do you pick the car up and start over, do you have a transfer back across to the center, then the inside? ohhhmyyygdddd :scared-eek:

It should go back to the lane you started on.

seems like there will be a whole lot going on in that drop in section ?

There seems to be a lot of confusion about the "drop in" section , so maybe a pic will help those that are confused...

The top piece is what's causing the confusion...

If you study it, you'll see the bottom lane moves up to the middle lane. Then the middle lane moves up to the top lane. Then the top lane moves back to the bottom and it starts all over again.

It's a great idea, and should work without doing any additional wiring. As been mentioned though, MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE there are no other controllers plugged in other than the one you're using. It won't matter which station you plug into, you just can't have more than one hooked up.

You could build a fourth drivers station and install a single pole double throw switch with the negative polls of the existing three drivers stations on one side of the switch and the fourth drivers station on the other side. This would isolate the other three drivers stations from the fourth. The fourth station would be used to operate the lanes when the crossover is installed. Toggling the switch to one side or the other would give you power where you want it with no possibility of a direct short through a redundant controller if it were inadvertently left on one of the other drivers stations.

You might also be able to do the same using one of the existing drivers stations with a double pole, double throw switch to isolate the other lanes when the crossover section is in but I haven't quite mapped the details of that electrical circuit in my brain yet.
