The best thing about Riverside as a slot track is that you don't have to have any "scenery"....no trees, no bushes, no hedges, no rock faces, just dust, dust, dust.....sort of like my track. My first trip there in 1958, when we got home, my dad made me wash his truck. I was happy to.....the sound of Phil Hills' Ferrari V12 on the straight is etched in my memory, what's left of it, anyway.
track is looking good! dan

Well, as this is NOT a replica of RIR, I'll be doing my own scenery...a little less dust and a few trees for sure. I'll have a few homages there for sure, but this will be my track my way. Hope that doesn't tick the purists off LOL!

I did finish the basecoat and lane painting. I'll speckle it later this week. I did paint the lanes as I got tired of yelling "inside lane" or "outside lane" lol.Image

Looking real good, it's taking shape. Do you think it could be ready for the last round of the Trans Am? :happy-wavemulticolor:

It'll be running in less than two weeks if all goes well!

As the track is a bit less technical I am going D.C. - 1 PS per lane and using the awesome SCC driver stations/wiring setup.

BTW - those have a reverse switch and the track is just as much fun CCW.

David,

Really like the way this is turning out. Nice little video too. You had toyed with the idea of an integrated oval at one time I believe, what was the deciding factor for sticking with just a road course?

Val - decided not to go through the trouble of an integrated oval as the stockers run perfectly on this track already. My original design would have not required flippers to change lanes, but with the straight feeding the oval, I would have had to do it here. Decided to go with the KISS principle.

Busy week at work, but got more done at night this week. Managed to break the track in for about 4 hours yesterday running Slot.it M8's on stock rubber. Traction is coming in nicely!

Got the fascia board up and cut for the scenery and will cut the mounts for the SCC driver's stations today after mowing the South 40. Going to vacuum the track and clean up the tools after that.

More to come!Image

WOW, you don't waste any time.

Oldest Daughter moved out, and I have convinced the wife we no longer need the media room in the basement as my daughter was the only one who used it. Thinking about track plans to fit in the space, and it is inspiring to see a track come together so quickly. Gives me hope that I too might have something new up and running before the snow falls again.

Track looks nice David. I thought for sure the bookend idea on the TransAm proxy was lost when you moved. Not so it would appear!
