Began some stone masonry work yesterday on a retaining wall. It's the simple pencil-on-styrofoam method.

That is a good look for your track. I know you are great with the painting part too.

That wall looks great!
I love all the tips / methods that are being shared - I had never heard of the pencil-on-foam method you mentioned previously, but have to say, it makes for a great looking wall!

The track is looking good. The best part after build is the touches of scenery that gives the track it's own identity.

Made a good start on plastering the elevation gaps tonight. Sculptamold is so easy to work with!
This is fun work.

Scenery work continues slow but steady. Tonight I experimented with building a pit lane out of foamcore. It is just pinned together now, so I can disassemble it for painting. Then it will get some stickers. Maybe one day some spectators could sit on the roof. :D

This whole track is a learning experience, and it's fun to just try stuff and see how it turns out.

It looks really good so far! I too am a Sculptamold believer. Three layouts with the stuff and I still love how it covers, shapes, and cleans up.

I got to drive Phil's new track :music-rockout:
Its a good one !
Challenging, but not frustrating. You can gauge the amount of slide and push it just a little more and a little more.
Different cars drive differently...one of the beauties of non magnet.
And....its got tons of scenic potential

I think this track will be fun for quite some time and if there is a replacement, or somebody inherits it, :shhh: the move will be painless. :D

Good Job Slot Buddy Phil !!

Richard, your instincts are very good. Right now my best car (Policar Lotus) can do 4.9 seconds, but other cars have a tough time breaking 6.0. So far all are on stock rubber with some wheel and tire truing. Urethanes will come later.

Here is a scenery update: got all the white plaster colored today.
