The latest update, I got all the walls up and painted. Since the track will be called Tr-I 55 Speedway what better colors than U of I blue and orange. I also wasn't to happy with the walls on the ends so replaced them with the more traditional curved ones. I plan to add some bill boards between the fence and walls as well. So now I'm just waiting for the Trackmate system to arrive so I can get started on the dead strips.

I'm liking it. Add it to the Forums Cup group of tracks. I need to go back an read the footprint of this track. I currently have a 12x6 table.
24 ft is the lane length or length of the tables?

Arrold,
The table is 22'6" end to end, widest area (center of track edge to edge) is 7'6".
Approximate lane lengths are as follows,
Lane one red 45'10"
Lane two white 47'9"
Lane three blue 49'8"
Lane four yellow 51'7"

I plan on adding it to the group of tracks once I get a few more details done.

I got a couple of things done today on the track.

First up, the starting line. I tried painting the squares by hand a first, but it didn't come out to good. I then cut the squares out of vinyl, drew the grid lines and placed them in position. I masked off the area and then painted the open squares in the different lane colors.

Later that afternoon I decided to finally use the Cricut that my wife got me a couple of years ago. All I can say is WOW! Oh man is this thing ever a time saver.

That's all for now, still more to come.

That looks sharp!
I may have to explore one of those machines! I could see where that could be VERY handy for making intricate paint masks...

The Trackmate timing is install and working great, I just needed a used cpu. I put a request on fb if anyone had a used one that they would like to donate and my brother in law came thru with a used laptop.

Ok now for an update, I got a couple of billboards up and others in need of some advertising.

These are not permanent, they are kept in place with small dot magnets glued to the bottom of the footings. I sink screws onto the table and the magnets hold them in place.
