Not enough space in the infield for the pillar.

How about a routed section that turns the L just before it gets to the pillar?

I found another base and will extend the track enough to miss the pole. I was looking where to pput a filimg cabinet and said, "Dan you stupid fool! Take the base that is by the desk and put it at the end of the track and put the short filing cabinet there!" The track just got longer

The yellow section is set in stone but the white is not.

Alternate #1:

The entry exit points are set in stone as well.

From the end of the decreasing radius left turn at the top of the drawing, right where you sketched in the route, you could put in a a constant radius sweeper, with a little kick into the exit points. It would be just shy of 6 feet long, and would come almost over to the lanes traveling in the opposite direction, so a clear plexiglass catch wall might be needed. On my track, I have thought about a wall to separate, but it never seems like its needed.

Here's what I mean:

PZOOC has drawn some of the suggestions on his CAD program. The third one is interesting.

Not that it matters, but the last diagram has a very close design to one section of my track. You would not think that increase in radius for that inside lane matters...but it does. Of course, we are just fun running and not doing official racing like your club where you would use lane rotation. But for keeping things close, that increase makes a difference.

Thank you Harry. I am making a further change to the inside. It is not distance but lap times that will matter.
