Dave,
It pains me to see that the track is no more. I really liked running on it. Is nothing salvageable from it to be used again in the new digs?

Well, none of the joints were remotely salvageable and because none of the lane spacing is the same the routing work alone would have been almost impossible.

Funny enough about the cleaning; last week the Shop Vac died after 12 years of almost daily resin duties. I had to buy a new one just to clean up the track. I also noticed that using the plaster towels with only a little Sculptamold was WORLDS easier to clean that the last time I had to take the PDR down. Almost no dust unlike the last time.

So, sadly - this is what's left of the old girl:

So I guess the bookend idea on the TA proxy isn't going to happen :D

That layout was inspiring, but kudos to you for getting the job done, and thinking about the next one.

Dave,

Will the trackside figures be housed in FEMA trailers in the meantime? Has PDR applied for federal funds and declared a state of emergency? I would only build Continental Divide at the place that gives the highest tax abatements and other "incentives" (including back room kickbacks of taxpayer money and bribes). It's time for "Big Resin" to apply its economic muscle over the little people (or on behalf of them, in your case)!

I really need to NOT read any of your posts while drinking fluids. This caused me to choke for almost 5 minutes!!! That is hysterical! Thanks for a great laugh - I needed that today!
