A friend of mine raced 850 Spyders years ago. His engines were pretty solid, although those aluminum parts were scary with out big American tools. Get a torque wrench if you don't have one already. Those aluminum head bolts and cam cover bolts will snap off so fast you won't believe it. His engines had plastic timing gears in them, but the 600 may not. They were more like Bakelite than plastic, and we became very adept at cleaning the shattered ones out and putting the new ones in- resetting everything, every time. Watch out high revs anyway. Its a big pain in the butt after the second or third time!
