I remember when this happened....so sad. But on the other hand people like this are recovering more "inaccessable" wrecks all the time and restoring them. Planes are like cars: "they don't make 'em like that today".

Right. Several planes have been recovered from deep in snowpack in Alaska. Lately, they have been
pulling planes out of Lake Michigan, where they were dumped after WWII. There is another German
U-boat down there that they scavenged parts from for the U-505. I love to see these old relics retrieved
and restored.
