Potential Postal Disruption Update 24 Nov 2018

Postby chappy » Wed Sep 12, 2018 5:31 pm

Hi lads, I just wanted to let you all know that there is a pending labour disruption with Canada Post as of the 26th of Sept. This may disrupt proxies and cross border trade and sales.
I will keep you all updated.
So plan accordingly

Okay lads , latest news on Canada postal dispute.
The union served stike notice today on the Corporation.
They can start action this coming Monday 22 Oct. Allegedly with rotating strikes by various areas initially, so some impact will slow down service initially with a potential lock out or full strike down the road if not settled.
I only mention this for cross border proxies and sales.

Latest update 24 Nov
Canadian Govt has tabled and passed Back to work Bill . It now goes to the House for approval and then gets Royal Assent.
This could mean services restored by sometime Monday at the earliest.
There is still a considerable backlog to clear, but at least thi gs will get moving.
The Postal Union will be fighting this in court as unconstitutional but that could take months. Meanwhile the Bill will be active until overturned by the courts.
So we should at least have a wj dow to get things rolli g again fairly shortly.
Cheers
