This is great news :clap: As a Carrera guy it was great to have Dave on the forums. I'm happy for Dave, and a little jealous of the Scaley guys now. Although, I think it will help the hobby as a whole too.
Hopefully Dave will be able to have a presence on the forums for his new employer like he did for Carrera. I am sure no matter what his duties are he will help Scalextric. Congratulations Dave :!:

So thanks a lot guys.
Yes I've been hired by Hornby's US distributing office in the Tacoma area. I'm the Brand Manager for the US. My job will be largely the same as with my previous employer and as it was with the company before that (yes... the trifecta-Spain, Germany, UK). You should all expect more of the same participation here online... that's a large part of what my new boss Ed (who was my boss for 7 of the 7.5 years of my previous company) and he and I have NO plans to change what we had started.
I will be doing social media, I expect I will have a hand in research about what products to make and also getting them right for THIS market for the collectors, racers, and hobbyists HERE. The US (and likely Canada at some point in the future) will be my focus of course. Yes I am a personal fan of sports cars but you should all expect that I will be your voice at the table for specifically US types of cars... period. I've already reached out to some of my contacts in the racing industry here and met with some already. I'm thankful to be given yet another chance to make cars people can race with their buddies, children, families.

I've been blessed to be in the slot business now for more than 10 years full time. I've met so many people that I consider personal friends because of slot cars. Too many to list have reached out to me after I was let go before last Thanksgiving. I'm not just saying this but it really did touch me to get so much support and personal messages and phone calls.

I am so excited to now make this new start with a HOBBY company.

Well Dave, you earned our respect and friendship. As you start this new adventure, with all the support and well wishes from HRW guys, you go with the same support you have had before. For me, it was hinted at before, but really solidified at Bruce's place for the Land Speed Record, after the SCX chapter in your career. You explained the process from early design to molds, to manufacturing, international BS, and finally the product that we enjoy so much. There was a lot going on, and as you took time from the job you were doing as representative to make me understand the plain facts of how a car today goes from concept to final product, you made a special effort, and I will never forget it. Fair winds and following seas, sailor.
