It is cold outside

Postby BARC 1 » Thu Jan 11, 2018 9:32 am

Well, today is a great day to spend prepping a proxy car. Woke up to an outside temperature of -40 C with a slight breeze, putting the windchill at -50 C. Up until 10 days ago we were having a mild winter, but man the last couple of days have been brutal.

If those Grande Kids weren’t so darn new and cute I would be wintering somewhere warmer!!
Cheers

We're confused and happy here. Suddenly, yesterday, all the snow was gone, and today its 60F outside. Earlier this week we were struggling to keep it 68F inside the house!

Not bad here right now. It’s 63 and sprinkling rain. Supposed to change over to freezing rain then snow. So winter is making a return.

Last week, we struggled to get above 0, with the lowest I saw was -16 on Friday. One week later, today I saw 47, and they saying it'll get above 50 tomorrow. After last week, we're having a heat wave, and I'll take it all day long....

It was over 100F here the other day. I’ll trade you some oven temps for a bit of snow!
Thanks

We’re getting smacked around today. First it was freezing rain, then some sleet and now it’s snowing. Crazy weather. I did manage to get to the local hobby shop this morning.

It hit 60 degrees here in the Buffalo area this morning.
Predictions of 6 inches of snow by midnight ! All this in one day.
Currently a mix of rain and snow with the temperatures falling.
Tomorrow.....I'll be working on the frame for my 3 lane 1/32 track.

I am in Depew. Our group used to race on Tues. and Thursday at Niagara Hobby. Now we race on Tuesdays at a friend's house.
Currently building a platform in my basement.
What type of cars?
Take care.

Yeah, high 50's today on Long Island. Fog everywhere because of all the melting snow, visibility driving is bad.
In the next 48 hours, we're gonna lose 30 degrees and everything's gonna freeze up again by Sunday morning!
Gotta be extra careful headin' out to the slot car races! Be safe out there, guys... Ernie :>)

Hey Bobby .
we race as a very informal group , 2- 4 of us , also on Tuesday nights. We race just about everything, Slot its, Fly, scaley ..lately we have been running the old Vanquish models a lot. I recently trashed my 3 lane analog track , and am making a routed digital track. I /we never thought we would get into digital just because of the cost of chipping our fleet of cars. But after buying a Carrera digital set and trying that......OMG! what a freaking blast it is!!!...
I would not doubt that we have crossed paths at Niagara. It was a shame to see that place close . But I took advantage of the final day sale to get started in digital. Perhaps in the future we can check out each others track.... stay warm
