Right.

So I managed to survive Geekfest. Holly smokes, what a night. Lost count of the people that stopped by and experienced the weird and wonderful world of slot cars, but believe me it was plenty. Some just looked in and moved on, most stayed to play and/or egg on their friends. Adults and kids both tried their hand and all seemed to have fun with it. I'm certain at least two families will be looking to get in on it. A the end of the night, two young boys insisted that their father bring them back for one more chance at it. Many questions were asked and I did my best to promote and inform the masses to the delightful affliction we all share.
From what little feedback I've received, my half-assed first effort garnered much positive response. There is much that I would change in the event it happens again. Uprated controllers, my own food stash, someone to help out (why did I do this solo?), soft cushions on the hardwood floors and so forth. An overall positive experience.
Additionally, I wish to heap tons of praise on Carrera for the ridiculously robust products we all enjoy. I chose them specifically for their strength and boy did that pay off. There were numerous offs that resulted in plastic meeting hardwood floor at speed and these cars just came back for more. Cosmetic damage for sure (anticipated) but mostly far less than expected, all cosmetic. Mechanically, no problems at all. The little beasts just kept on running. Only one car got really torn up, nothing that can't be fixed. Fantastic build quality Carrera. You guys rock!

Thanks to everyone who wished me well! Maybe I'll do it again...

I really think that this was awesome. I might do the same here in my neck of the woods if an opportunity presents itself.
