Hi All, and Dave K.
When i have a shippment coming or going across the US Canada Border, i track on USPS Tracking and Canada Post tracking.
Both systems recognize the tracking numbers of each other, so once you have a parcel leave the USA , track it on Canada Post , using the same number. Thismis also,true in reverse.
This however does not work with overseas parcels in the regular post .
Imhave used a company called Parcel Hero which is much cheaper ,
but is linked to Fed Ex i believe. Tracking is good with it too.

With USPS, continuing tracking of a package once outside the continental US depends on a common barcode interface with the destination country. There are very few matches internationally. Oddly enough, South Africa does work. Some other European countries can pick up on the barcode but only when it hits a local postal hub and only then if the barcode database is compatible.
