Right. There are many movements in Congress which will affect when people can retire. They
want to change the full retirement age to 70. They also will reduce the monthly SS to 75%. The
fund must last until 2033 per the original act, but since the government has removed money, and
also borrowed against the fund, there is not enough to last. That is why they are now hitting
the Medicare fund. Plus people are living longer than originally expected, and the prices of everyday
necessities have risen more than planned for. The fund was supposed to be self perpetuating, but
I don't see how it can ever be.
