Dave,

I don't believe in bad years, but this seems to have been kind of a rough one for similar circumstances on both counts. I, myself was following some of your Trans-Am proxy series from a hospital room and it brought me joy, so again.. I thank you for that.

Speedy recovery my friend... Frustration is the enemy.

You are to be commended for bringing this into our cloistered little world. Everyone should get a physical once a year from their doctor. With health insurance a requirement now, it should be noted that yearly physicals are covered by all health insurance policies, so there is no rational reason to not get one. I wish you a speedy recovery and many, many years of a happy and healthy life.

Dave, I went thru the same deal at age 57. You will come out fine and have a positive future in all aspects. Davinci surgery is a marvel. I put up a new ceiling on my porch 2 weeks after surgery and went back to work.

Sorry to hear this news, good luck withthe procedure and the recovery.

A friend of mine went thorugh this same process and he came out very well at the end of it, so your prognosis is good.

Hang in there...

Best of luck....I'm sure the days ahead will be much better since that prognosis is no longer hanging overhead.

I'll be 70 in April & my PSA has crept up each year for the past 4 or 5.....Just got back from my primary care doc checkup yesterday
& mine's stayed the same. Everyone should keep on eye on this. I've had 2 biopsies & numerous embarassing tests, all with
negative results. PSA's are not the best indicator, but it's the best that's out there right now. My issue is proly caused by BPH,
which almost all of us guy's get eventually. One good thing about becoming a geezer is this is usually not an issue if you get old enough.

Again, best of luck & I hope you start getting resin all over your fingers soon.

David
Thank you for a great post and it gives us all time to reflect. We owe it to ourselves but even more so to our loved ones around us to insure we take care of ourselves.
I know you have a great support system around you and who will be there with you.
Now that you will have a little recovery time we are sure that your mind will start working on new creations...hmm what next?
Take care my friend

Hey David!

I feel blessed everyday that we are living in the time period we are were there are solutions to issues that before would have been fatal.

My 50 year old brother went down the same highway as you and today 8 years later he is a totally healthy pain to the rest of the family!!

Take care!!

As tough as the decision is, yanking it out was the smart move. I have and uncle that had his removed following diagnosis, and the recovery and *ahem* adjustment took some time, but it guaranteed that the cancer was gone. My wife's uncle just started radiation on his, and doesn't sound like a fun route either. Just rest, try to relax, and keep turning laps.

Folks, thanks for the kind words, but again this is more about awareness of this for our group. I did get some great news today-the pathology came back that the cancer did not spread past the prostate. I am unbelievably thrilled with that news.

Got home late this afternoon and it is nice to be home.

Pretty wiped out, talk to you all tomorrow,
