Great article, don't miss this!

I got a hit on this article because I had a typo on a search, and I am so grateful for old man hands that sometimes miss keyboard keys. For those of you who born after 1965 or so, the names like Stirling Moss, Jack Brabham, Juan Manuel Fangio, Phil Hill, etc, might be the stuff of stories and race announcer's trivia, but I stumbled onto this little article that really takes you back to the days when Formula One involved war veterans, non-millionaire owners, designers and engineers who were equally intuitive and educated and amazing races on roads meant for goat wagons and bare feet. There were races that went one way from ancient village to ancient village in the Italian mountains, racers who ran out of gas and pulled into a gas station to buy enough to finish the race in the top 10, and all manner of stories about drivers' carousing together the night before the race and finishing 1-2-3 in the morning. You're gonna love this.
