Harry Gant and Alexander Rossi

Postby spaceshoes » Sat Mar 02, 2019 8:03 pm

Here are a couple that I've finished. I chose the Harry Gant car because that is the car I remember most from the first NASCAR race I watched. Now I can't remember if it was one that he won at Talledega in 84, or if it was Pocono. Either way, here it is, slightly adapted to match the car's body style. Decals are the peel and stick variety from Patto.

Unfortunately we have a lack of Indycars, so I did the next best thing, I turned a cheap F1 into Rossi's Indy 500 winner. Of course I took liberty with some of the decal placements due to the body being different. I think it turned out looking sharp. Decals are from Indycals.

Wow!! Those peel and stick look great on Harry's car.

I love the idea of turning the Sacley F1 into Indy style racers, I plan on stealing that idea for mine, excellent work!!!

Sweetness Shoes...agree the Gant car is awesomeness as is the Indy!!! Just to make sure, the Gant is a Scalextric Monte Carlo repaint...just for others to know :D :auto-layrubber: :auto-layrubber: :auto-layrubber:

Thanks guys appreciate it. I enjoy seeing the finished products. Just dropped another Monte Carlo in the alcohol. Excited to get started on that. I really like the peel and stick option from Patto. It makes application quicker and I feel that it's a better quality print on that. It may be that it is a better quality print on the decal now as well, but the stickers have held up really well on the cars I've done in the past.

Oh, and for the paint, on the Skoal car I used Tamiya TS-43 Racing Green. On the Rossi, the blue was the color of the plastic and the yellow was Tamiya TS-16 Yellow on top of a white primer. Clear coated with Pledge.
