Hi Guys, I haven't seen this bought up here so I thought I would mention it. Im on a few modelling forums & Facebook modelling groups & everyone is talking about Molotow Chrome Marker Pens. They come in 3 size tips, 1mm, 2mm & 4mm. The feedback on these pens have been amazing with most people saying the chrome is as good as model kit chrome. Ive seen peoples models who have done trim work around windows etc, some people have applied it to full bumpers & wheels. Someone even decanted it in there air brush, unthinned & sprayed it on a whole car body. Ive seen people apply it from the pen direct to bare plastic & resin with no undercoat. All with amazing results.

So this is a game changer, to get something as good as chrome plating at home, at a great price. If you don't like foil this could be your answer! Also you can buy a refill & unscrew the tips on the markers & refill your pens.

I purchased a set last week, so Im waiting for delivery. Hopefully not to long, as Im in Australia. Ill post me feedback once they arrive. If your interested in them give them a try. They are on eBay, amazon & a few pen/art shops online, just shop around. Be careful on eBay though as some places are selling them for high prices.

Well that does sound like it can be a great game changer for us...will be waiting to hear your report on how good they really work!! Wonder if Hobby Lobby or Michael's or the likes would carry something like that!! And having refills just makes it that much better!! Great find MPG!!

Got the 1mm pen myself. Can highly recommend it. Not sure on what the effects of clear coating will be but the raw chrome is bright and shiney and seems to dry firm/hard.
Got mine from an Art Supplies shop.

Molotow have their origins in street art....you know that stuff you see sprayed around the place.

Hi guys, it seems as they are new & popular they are hard to find atm. Some places are selling them for way to much because of that. I'm in Australia and I couldn't find any here. So I got mine from an online store called Markers & Pens in the U.K. It cost me $30AU including shipping for 3 pens, which I think is pretty good.

From what I've read the 1mm is great for trim work and small items. 4mm is good for bumpers & large items. I can't wait for my pens to arrive as I've got a car waiting to try them out.

Munter have you got any photos of Molotow Chrome applied to a car?

Ordered mine up on the bay today!! Tried searching everywhere to see who might carry them and the bay seems to be your best bet!! Looking forward to trying them out!! I saw vids that said don't use (clear???) on them but I'm wondering if "Future" dips will hurt it??

Please share your feedback once you have gotten your pens in. At this stage you guys will get them before me. I ordered mine on 2nd March, so I'm starting to get a little impatient as I'm waiting to use them on a few cars.
