Corvair Monza GT

Postby cagee13 » Tue Oct 02, 2012 10:06 pm

This was built from an Aurora model kit. The kit was already built when I got it so I just shot some paint over what was already there. I painted the car silver since nearly all the pics of this car show it to be silver. Simple set of decals on it which I think gives it the feel of the Porsche 904s. It sits on a Monogram Sebring chassis.

I love it. Simple, but very cool. Maybe you should have used a Fly 911 for the underpinnings just to make sure the motor was in right place! (Just kidding, Sebring is a great choice).

I remember when these cars were being run on race tracks. I always thought they were neater than heck. Lancer had one in clear plastic, but I think it was 1/24, still neat. This is a fairly rare Aurora kit, nice find, and build. 8-)

I forgot I even posted this. It is a very interesting little car. Right now I've got tons of project cars going at the same time. If I could just get some of them done.

Seems you are building a few old classics. This a new class you guys are going for or just for you?

I'll throw together a couple for our next meet :)
