Defending champion

Postby biedmatt » Tue Sep 25, 2012 7:10 pm

Those of you who followed the story last year know that the Ferrari 158 I built won the VRAA proxy. I procrastinated long enough on this year's car that I was almost out of time. But, it is finished except for the front wheel knock-ons and is running times very close to the 158 on a dirty track without any rubber on it. So I am happy with how it has turned out. The number one plate has not been successfully defended in any of the prior five years, but I am hopeful none the less.

Thank you all for the kind words.
The body is a Dave Jones. I got lucky, a friend who knows Dave was able to aquire it for me.
The helmet was something different. Since I am running the number one plate, I needed to find a driver who won a championship in a Honda. Pete Aron, in a sort of indirect way, is the only driver who has won in a Honda.

Outstanding work, on the body and the chassis... If it runs anywhere near as well as it looks you have it in the bag..

We are doing well so far. A first in the concours judging and a 4th and 1st in the first two races. I am 1 point out of first, just behind Ken.
