Oops! Did I forget to put in the instructions NOT to use the coffee table, the dinning room table, or any of the wife's nail products in the build of your resin kit?

I used to use Dial to clean prior to painting, but they changed the formula and now it's more greasy feeling than it used to be. I went looking for Wesley's Bleech White as Doc suggested, however it looks like they were bought out and rebranded to Black Magic Bleche White. Reading reviews and rants on automotive forums points to yet another formula change.

So at this point, what are our options when it comes to removing resin release agents :?:

Just some Dawn dish liquid and lukewarm water. Works every time.

I'll add this little bit... be thorough. There are so many little places that you might miss. I finally started using a toothbrush, after having a couple of screwups.

So it's Dawn with a toothbrush. Excellent! I've got a couple of out of production kits that I can't afford to screw up, so this will will come in handy. Thanks guys.

A trick I read somewhere was after washing, take some regular masking tape and stick it all over the body. If it sticks, the paint will stick. It has never failed since I`ve read that, and began the procedure. If it don`t stick like it should re wash till it does, it will save a lot of grief, especially if you plan on multi colors and re taping.

How about a can of computer air? You know, the compressed aresol (sp) can of air to dust your keyboard. It could get the water out of areas you cant get a paper towel into.

I use 000 and 0000 steel wool on new resin bodies; gives me just the right "tooth" on the surface. Then a wash with Dawn, rinse with lukewarm water, dry and ready for paint. No need for primer unless you need to bury a color.
