I vote for the Ford.
I would like to have a VW bug to paint that is a cheaper alternative to stripping a Scaley, but I think you'd have more folks interested in the Ford than the bug. Personally, I'd model the Ford as a stock street machine, but I can imagine that the dirt track guys would be very interested in chopping/modding the body.

I would vote for the 40 Ford . I think A2M makes a Bug. A racing version if I remember correctly. Regards, John

What 1/32 1940 Ford coupe body are you going to cast?

Did a model company produce a 1/32 '40 Ford coupe kit at one time or is it a 1/32 diecast body?

I don't know of any in 1/32?

Just curious being the street/hot rodder that I am.....

I'd be interested in a couple.

I look forward to seeing your resin body results.

The only one I could find on the internet search was a 1/32 kit of the '40 Ford coupe by a company named Pyro.....

Lindbergh has a '40 convertible out in 1/32 but lindberghs 1/32 is very questionable from kit to kit.

I have a half dozen from lindbergh and some are close to 1/32 and others are quite small for being 1/32.

I look forward to seeing your casting and how it comes out.

Cool.....

That's the problem with those old kits is that their bodies are in multiple pieces.

The lindbergh coupe and roadsters I have are that way.

They don't hold up very well to crashes.

Mine ended up being built ups just sitting on a shelf.

"And yeah they are going to be vintage NASCAR Modifieds."

Wow!

That body looks great in the pic!

I need me a couple for sure!

Hey I have a half a dozen of the Lindbergh coupes and roadsters but I acquired them already built up and they aren't that nicely built but not sure if they would make good casting fodder or not?

It would probably be a project to get them apart though...

Here is what I have to offer up:

They are older builds I picked up off SCI in the for sale section.

I was going to use them as old dirt track racers until I found out the bodies were multiple pieces and wouldn't hold up well.

They got parked on top of my display shelf from that point forward.

If they can be used to make molds off of, I'll offer them up.

They will just sit collecting dust for eternity if not.....

Hi David!

For the good of advancing the slot car hobby and the benefit of everyone on board here, I will make the contribution of these cars to you for casting purposes. No need to worry about any damage that would occur to them. They are just sitting on a shelf looking pretty any how!!

Once you receive them you will see which ones are close to 1/32 and which ones are slightly smaller.

They would make perfect bodies to one piece mold for old dirt track stockers to help add more variety to a field of cars.

It may be a challenge getting them a part to do so but they are quite old and may come a part fairly easily possibly also?

I will let the professionals (You) take upon that challenge.

PM me your address and I'll get them in transit to you.

If you are able to cast them< I want everyone to be able to benefit from it.

Many here have helped me out over the years which I very much appreciate and it is a little way of giving back to everyone in this fine hobby by returning the favor in this small way.

Looking good!

Just a resin tip though...stop using clay. Tape off the inside of the car with 2 layers of green automotive tape. Bring it about 1/2" below the rockers and hot glue that to your board. LOADS easier than dealing with clay.

Hi David!

However you want to proceed with them once you receive them is fine with me.

I think that is pretty awesome what you are providing to everyone in this hobby plus contributing back to HRW also at the same time.

I just hope you can get these a part and use them to make molds off of.

I've heard over the years where guys put old built models in a freezer to make the glue become brittle and help come a part easier.

Never tried it but it is a suggestion......

Also I looked at your profile and see you were a automotive/aircraft painter?

I work for SW in paint research and I am a paint application specialist myself and do heavy industrial paint application.

I turned my hobbies and interests into my career.

I started out painting race cars with my Dad and Uncle out of our garage as a teenager and kind of ran with it from there.

I consider myself some what of an industrial paint artist now....

I get to practice every day at work so I can perfect my skills in 1/32 scale!!!

Its nice to meet others in the same field!
