For the Carrera digital cars it is simple, except wires are kind of small and hard to work with. I buy small LED lights at Radio Shack. They come with long metal posts of different lengths. One is positive and the other negative. They connect to the wires on the digital chip that does not go to the motor. To string some together just connect long post on one light to short post on the next and make the chain as long as needed. When you get to the end of the chain you will have one long post and one short post left over. These will connect to the connector on the digital chip. If they do not work reverse the connection because it only works one way.

The nice thing about the digital cars is the lights are on when the car is not moving.

For analog I think you will need higher power bulbs since you will be running off the track power supply.
