Carrera 1/32 34 Hot Rod Disassembly - re paint?

Postby red73mustang » Mon Oct 07, 2019 6:40 pm

So I'm breaking down a Carrera 1/32 "34" Hot Rod (Yellow) for a re paint and I've almost got everything taken apart except the radiator cover/frame rails. It looks to be a separate piece from the Head Lights and shocks but I'm not sure how to separate it. Anyone here done a color change on these and know how to remove these?

Thanks, Chet

If you pop out the chrome radiator "core" from the radiator cover you will find a screw that needs to come out. Take a hobby knife to the top of the core and pry it out. Once it is out then the bottom will pop out and the screw will be visible. Once the screw comes out the cover can be removed, freeing up the axle assembly and headlights. I have the red & black hot rod with the blower scoop coming thru the hood. A lot of cuss words were said during my first disassembly and a few more during re-assembly.
