Dodge Charger Makeover

Postby dge467 » Thu Feb 14, 2013 9:02 pm

Well I am just a sucker for Dodge Charger's! Here is another Scalextric Charger that looks better with some work. The first thing that has to go is the push bar in front. Luckily it mounts using the front chassis screws. The next part is the horrible super charger that is just glued to the hood. I cut a hole in the hood and added a super charger from a Muscle Machines die cast. It looks better and has some Holley carburetor's with good detail. I glued it to a piece or plastic from the spares box and mounted it in place to the underside of the hood. I took off the Scaley wheels and mounted Pioneer wheels for a big improvement. On the interior I did some detail painting and gave the driver's eyes some pupils. The Charger looks so much better to me now! It was last seen challenging a black Ford coupe on some deserted road.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

I tell ya, those Pioneer wheel sets make anything better. I wish I could get my hands on a box full of them. You vastly improved that car, that's for sure.

I've never really understood why Scaley did that car, or more curious, what were they thinking when they designed that blower? As far as I know, the only blower that was concurrent with that car's existence was the GMC 6-71 classic hot rod blower. None of them has ever been anything remotely similar to that out of scale glob of chrome that Scaley used. Has there ever been a hot rodder so clever as to build a car like that and so stupid as to block his own vision?
