Alfa Romeo tipo 33 Periscopica 1967

Hi Guys

I have started new build Alfa Romeo tipo 33 from resin kit. Body was painted with primer then oxidized aluminum and Italian red on top. All tamiya sprays. And then gently sanded with 2000 wet paper.
Flat clear coat on top. Now is time for chassis. ... I know I should start with chassis first... but I have soft spot for alfas (Alfa was my first car I ever had) so I started other way around. .. anyway more scratches will add more patina..
Chassis will be wire based. Can't decide on configuration but Inline probably. There is enough room for sidewinder but tires will not be any wider then 10mm if chosen. Piranha powered with urethanes shoes.

Looks really good Radarek, gotta love Alfas' !!!.........as you mentioned, it is always a good idea to start with the chassis......far less swearing involved :D

Will try my best to get this body on wheels this Thursday so I can test it on our track. Like I said alfa was my first car, I had it for 5 years and did wonderful 250k km in it trouble free!!!....
Small flat motor 1.3 only but lots of fun.
By the way that was tipo 33 too just 1993.

Nice job on that beautiful body. A Cursa kit? Have you watched AC/DC's Brian Johnson's show featuring Alfa Romeos and going on a ride in that Periscopica? Very cool.

You must have grown up outside NA as we didn't get those neat Alfas.

(The red one, I mean!) I'm not a great fan of later-model 1:1 scale Alfas.

Where did the resin body come from? I have always wanted to build a Periscopa.

My own 1:1 Alfa was a 1600 GT Junior, bought new in 1975, the photo taken about 7 years later when rust had already started eating the lower sills:

Nice alfa. Junior is getting pricey those days and very collectible.

I bought kit from Pendleslot. Don't know what brand is doing that. Kit is not as good as george turner kits- some small holes in the kit but overall ok. Good width and wheelbase.
I have almost bought Montreal when I lived in England but unfortunately last minute I changed my mind and ended up with mini digger.... no comments on that.
