This car was built for Bob Taylor. When he started the 100 Years of Indy proxy idea; way back last Fall, I asked if I could build an Auto Union Type C. That car, of course, never ran at Indy. But, Bob found a pic of an Indy car that had to be a close cousin of the Type-C, so he said; "go ahead and build it." That was great, but I still felt I was on the fringe of not being kosher for this series, so I offered to build the Marmon Wasp as an even-the-score/get-back-in-the-game car. And that's how it started. The AU Type-C never saw the light of day; although it now had a new home in Ontario, CA. And the Wasp is now complete.
So, this one's for you, Bob. And it will likely find it's way to Perry, GA if it survives this series................
Time for you to get back into the slot car fun!
