I recently bought a new Carrera Ford GT. It repeatedly deslots when changing lanes. I am running front mag only, have added up to 1/2 oz of lead to the front and 3/4 to the rear. This has improved the overall handling but not the deslot issue. I have tried a blade with the front cut down to a 45 degree angle. This seems to help a bit but does not solve the issue. With the stock blade it will deslot at half throttle.
Of a dozen Carrera cars, this is the only one with this issue. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bruce

I also had this issue with my Carrera Ford GT and found that, when compared to other Carrera cars, the front blade is mounted up higher than other cars. I shimmed the blade downward so it sat deeper in the slot on the track and this resolved the problem. No more deslotting on lane change.

Thanks, Kip. About how thick were the shims?

If you have a tire truer like the Tire Razor, you can true down the front tires to a smaller diameter to get the guide blade lower in the slot.

I had the same problem with my Ford GT, drove me nuts until I figured it out.
I glued a strip of .030" polystyrene to the bottom of the guide blade and all is good.
The car rumbles like crazy, I have sound board and carpeting under the track and the thing still sounds like it has studded snow tires on it.
