Tape is the simplest form of damping you can put on a slot car. Unlike thin wire (which is a spring), tape doesn't store energy during movement. If your car has a pod that's really loose and you find the car snatches on apexes then tape will reduce this as it slows the movement of the body/chassis due to weight transfer in corners. Try in various places to suit. I prefer a strip about 15mm wide across the front of the pod, if it's not enough I double it up.

...it doesn't have to be fibre tape, electrical tape works too or duct tape :music-rockout:

I was also thinking about using 1/4 in strips of brass , it was just a way to stretch the chassis for wheel base .
