They are good alright but what I cannot figure out is the two options of the stem diameter?

Thanks Mike
I can see the difference now you mention it.
I also realise I am confused about the actual guides.
There are other SC guides in red, right?

Thanks Harry, they were what I thought I was commenting on previously.
They perform well and are economical compared to some brands.

Munter, basically the SC-1603, 1604, 1607 and 1608 are all 1/32 guides and the rest are for 1/24 car's. The 1/24th take a nut instead of a screw and the braid they use is the bigger type. I am sure you could use standard braid.

To use the "standard" 1/32 type braid, you would need to crimp a length of it into the brass guide clips that are used for the thicker, heavier 1/24 braid. I've done this quite often and it works fine. You need to have a pair of the bigger braids, though. Pull the heavy braid out of the clip by holding the braid in a pair of pliers and tugging - it will slide out. Then feed the thinner braid into the clip and squash the clip down to hold it in place.
The best nuts to use for holding these guides onto the chassis are these:
