Rob if you turn the diameter of the front tires down it should also lower the guide deeper into the slot. No wheel or tire change, just sanding the fronts down. 0.5mm reduction actually takes 1.0 mm off the tire but only lowers the guide down 0.5mm.
It's like all the clubs as it depends on the rules as to what you can do. So as you suggest there is more than one way to skin an apple.

Another option is offset bushings from Slotting Plus.

What is nice about that option is it's reverseable / not a permanent change.

Rule Must run stock guide setup.
I beleave you can true the front tires and bring the front of the car down that way. Must run stock front wheels and tires.

I have the Carrera Porsche GT3 RSR ''Hybrid, No.36'', VLN 2011 setup for that class.

I too have the Ford GT and love the car, I run it stock..

I'm not at all in race competition but I like that all of my digital Carrera cars to handle at their max and by lowering that front end of that beautyfull FORD GT, il runs as good as my Corvettes CR 6 & 7 and as good as my DTM cars, but just a bid slower ;)

These cars are worth the effort. That chassis looks very interesting as well.

The OP mentioned the Northeast Challenge Carrera class, in that case most of the proposed modifications would not be legal. If that was not the case I would lower the front of the car by using offset bearings.

If limited to rules the new Ford GT would not be my choice due to the ride height and the overall weight. For a home track where i usually tinker and modify for best potential it's a great car.
