I have 4 of these controllers that I use on my 3 lane track, 3 + 1 spare. They all work as good as new. :auto-layrubber:
Also, PWM generates less heat than resistors. Less heat means less power loss which is one of the reasons auto makers are using it. Plus PWM, in solid state, is widely used in most electronic fuel injection systems.
