Nicely done! The Monogram and Cox cars are almost equal in shape, but the performance of the sidewinder was obviously better.
I like that you made the full interior work. That's a nice custom car.

Very nice job, I have an LS Chaparral 2C on a Dynamic 36D s/w chassis and it fits great with full interior. That kit is still pretty fairly priced and builds a nicely detailed racer. I don't have a pic of mine, but here is one from the net.

I took a couple pix of the LS conversion I did to show how easy it was. I got this one together and on the shelf 12 years ago or so and never really finished it. This is where it is, needing wheel inserts or Cox wheels.

I found that the chassis that comes with the Monogram 2D or the AMT Chap model kit can work in any of the Chaparral hard bodies from the 60's slot cars. The AMT kit comes with hard plastic tires and wheels and can easily be molded. Those simple parts allow you to make a curbside model version of any old Chaparral slot car pretty easy.
