REVIVING A OLD STROMBECKER BARRACUDA

Postby dge467 » Sat Feb 20, 2016 12:49 pm

I picked this one up real cheap on ebay.I was going to replace the chassis with something more modern, but was curious to see if I could get it going. It wasn't running and after removing the motor, it pretty much fell apart, and was missing a brush. After rummaging around my vintage salvage yard, I found a motor! I cleaned it up and tested it. As it first ran, it was glowing hot and smoking a lot, but after few seconds it amazingly cleared up and runs pretty good! I slipped on some new braids and found some take off tires from a Scaley VW Beetle to replace the dry rotted originals that fit pretty good. It is a pretty fun car to run as is! Dose anyone have a source for a rear bumper? Oh yes, I did make a cruddy video of the car on the track! Just click on the little pic for video.

Nice to see, these were the very first slot cars I owned still love them. By the way I could use a rear bumper myself!
So far behind I'm in first!
