Built up a simple brass chassis for the newest Strombecker member around here.
PM Motor bracket, 2mm brass rod, NC-1 motor, slot it 9x27 gears, and for the time being, some CBD 14x6 wheels with PG 21073 Tires. I added two posts to the body to mount the new brass chassis, and left the original chassis mounts intact. This car will retain the original finish and decals, with a coat of future to keep it all looking nice.
Great running little car! nice and smooth, with scale speed fun.ImageImageImage

Keep up the building.

Just a comment (remember, there is no wrong way) you could have put a piece of wire inside the frame tubing to join them. Your choice works, just saying there are other choices.

Thanks for building your car's chassis. Love to see this.

Nice indeed Mr. Taylor sir!

Now I have some Carrera models I have thought about doing this same thing to. Not really vintage, but I'll race you when I finish.

Thanks all! This turned out to be a great running little car. I was going to add some brass pans for weight, but with the heavy Strombecker body, it really didn't need any. So when the CB insert wheels get here, I will add the proper inserts, and it will be done.
And Marty, Thanks for the great idea on the chassis rails. On this one I used solid 2mm rod, so I couldn't put a wire inside the tubing to make the stretch. I had to go on the outside for that final wheelbase adjustment.
