Chris........beautiful work, as always. The details really matter.
Lots of folks say the Strommie and Eldon cars are junk......but these are illustrations that with a bit of work, they can be made into very nice cars indeed. Granted, they don't look like much in stock form....but some paint, detailing, and decals can make a world of difference. Love this display, Chris.
Would love to see chassis work on some of the other cars......that Porsche was a lovely piece.

As everyone has said they're a loverrrrly bunch of cars, but........... a lot of us know what you can do with some brass and music (piano?) wire, so could we have a look underneath please.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for showing the chassis on these fine cars. I always feel that the chassis is an integral part of a build and should be shown as well as the body. I think the simple builds are just as important . Somebody thinking of having a go at a build, may be put off by the more the more complex ones but seeing chassis like these may be more inclined to try.
In fact the Scuttler chassis on the Lotus 19 has given me an idea for a project as I have a one I bought from EJ's some years ago.

On the Strombecker Ford J-Car bodyshell, did you use a narrowed Scalextric GT40 chassis underneath?
By my "eyeball engineering" in the past, they are very close in wheelbase.
Your car is wonderful, and on my "to do" list someday.
Please do share more details on it.

Hi Balaclava...I tried to keep these somewhat period correct by using either vintage chassis or by building a chassis that "fit" the time period. The Ford "J" car has a much modified vintage Monogram chassis under it.....certainly more potent than the Scaley chassis.

It is similar to the one pictured below.....
