Well stated my friend.

I think we are all interested in promoting our hobby.

Some of us are a bit more "experienced" then others.

Perhaps some of us have even entered "The Curmudgeion Zone" and just tell it like it is.

The bottom line though is all of us want to promote this hobby and bring new racers into it. I now my grandson is racing with me from time to time and my granddaughters both want to play with the slot cars whenever they come to the house. I love doing that with them. Thank God for magnets and adjustable power supplies!

Again, I love driving the cars once the tuning and tire problems are sorted out. I really, really like the way they drive.

And Jeremy hit the nail on the head with HRW being just the right place to figure things out if someone is new to the hobby.

The biggest issue is that were it not for the price, I never would have gotten into these. That is the saddest part.

I suspect that we're hearing some discordance because people who have been buying the Ninco1 cars for the past several years are surprised to hear about these particular problems, occurring all at once and coming primarily from one source in a blowout sale. There are three of us who have seen little to no issues with wheels and tires, and between the three of us (BRS, m_fogg and me), we probably have well over thirty Ninco1 cars in the stable. None of us is saying that the facts are mis-reported, just that it is extremely odd, statistically. Virtually all have been surprisingly smooth and excellent runners, once the Weber-grill-cleaning-braids have been replaced for something softer. :)

These cars have enjoyed a pretty good reputation for several years (I think my first Ninco1 review was four years ago), and they seemed to be very consistent since then, so we're understandably cautious when we hear of a sudden change as the result of a blowout sale.

Thanks, Jeremy. The good news is that it's all 'easy fix' stuff. :)

In any case, it's good for the buyers out there to see that they might get something that's less than perfect, and they can decide for themselves if those are the kinds of issues they're willing to fix.

Yeah, like I said earlier, there's absolutely no dispute with the findings. We're all doing the same thing, making sure that buyers get the whole story. If only this report were read, most buyers would assume that a preponderance of Ninco1 cars had wheel and tire issues. The Ninco1 vets simply responded to make sure that their four years of consistent findings didn't disappear. Of course, if everyone thinks that the wheels and tires are going to be terrible, then we'll be able to get Ninco1 cars even cheaper! :lol: But that hasn't been the trend across many samples over several years, so this looks to be an anomaly. In any case, though, the reporting is good, and the reporting is helpful, so thanks to everyone who did report on the cars. :banana-rock:
