"New" Slot.It Rothman's Porsche 962

Postby Z-carfan » Tue Mar 19, 2019 2:32 pm

New to me I mean. This car has been out a while and I stumbled on one that was new with a damaged box for a good price.
I had to add this one to my growing collection of 962's. However I didnt' want the 'Racing' livery one recently released, so I lucked out.

The car was unharmed and a beauty. I always wondered about the covered up tobacco livery, so here is my chance to check it out.

Good ole inline slot it set up.

These Orange end bell's seem way to hot to me with no magnets.
So this one is coming out and at War Eagle River's suggestion I'm going to drop in an NSR Baby King and see how it runs.
If any of his cars were an example, this will be the smoothest car in my group.

More to come, as it looks like the post mail dropped of my motors today! :)

Mike, not sure about the Baby King in that car. We run our Group 5 class exclusively with the BK. For the Group C, a lot of us like the Piranha. Not as hot as the Orange end bell, lot smoother acceleration curve. And absolutely worth the $$. Oh and by the way, that car is HOT!

Good report!!!

And will repeat his advise on the Piranha. If you want to keep the performance, but just have a smoother model...GO FISH :)

Well, you are correct on the fitment of the Baby King, that motor is larger than I thought.
I think I have a few Piranha on the bench, I will try one of those tonight. Thanks for the info. Will report back.

Good to know about Group 5 W.E.R., I can move the Baby Kings to those cars. :)

Yes, we need to get something on the calendar. Maybe we can pick some target dates this weekend at the Stock Tjet Challenge.

I have the newer 962 with the "racing" livery and it is historically correct. Thats the car that Stefan Belloff set the lap record in at the Nurburgring and that was beaten recently.
