This is from Dave who is still across the pond at Hornby/Scalextric:

A white car will be made but it’s not planned to be the first release but that is being discussed.

All the releases will have an interior and clear windows. We are ironing out details for this and the set to be in production. I don’t have a firm release date yet.

Before it’s asked, yes we know we need a car to run with it... it’s being discussed and we’re aware which cars would be appropriate.

More thoughts soon. And if there are some questions I might be able to answer I will try

Would it be worth asking Scalextric if in the future the front axle could be left plane and not knurled so we can pop the wheels for truing purposes? As they aren't driving wheels it seems hard to imagine that there would be enough stress on them to come off in regular use. eg Slot.It fronts seem to cope OK. Just a thought that crossed my mind that would make life a bit easier.

Great review on the Monte Carlo. Thanks Harry. I'm sure this a popular release for a lot of people. I know it is for me. My understanding is Scalextric will release some fantasy liveries first. Any word on if they plan on releasing any NASCAR period correct liveries for the Monte Carlo?

No. At least not in any near future I am aware of. But the way things change so quickly, who knows?

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the article. Appreciate the feedback.

I totally understand why these Monte Carlos will have fantasy liveries. If NASCAR, the auto manufacturers and the team owners could see beyond their greed for the almighty dollar they might understand that a model car, especially one that runs, is free advertisement for their products. So, thanks to the lawyers and licensing fees, producing a slot car with historic liveries would drive the cost of said slot car too high. For those who really need to have one with an historic livery there will be others of us who will be able to provide the talent needed to create whatever livery a person needs as long as the price is right. Personally. I don't care what livery my slot car has as long as I can make it a winner on race day.

I'm glad NASCAR has peaked and imploding.....it's sickening watching spoiled babies race
