Great review Harry!
:text-bravo:

I (and a couple other local racers) have the earlier releases of this truck and have to parrot what Harry has said - these can make for VERY fun running!

Here are my impressions of the trucks!
They do a good job of simulating driving a big rig! :D
With the tall tires and standard 9-27 gearing they have somewhat slower acceleration, a LOT of coast, slower braking - and if you have a LONG straight, can build up to a pretty impressive top speed! Those characteristics definitely take some getting used to - but once you have, they can be a riot to run against one another (or more) on the track!

Some additional observations:
- I found the factory tires to offer decent grip with the effectively tall gear ratio - they allow a decent balance of being able to run through a corner smoothly, or if you want to push it, can be used to do nice controlled drift and/or "tail out" fish tail exits from the corners. (A stickier tire might make it a bit more prone to having issues with tip due to the higher center of gravity?)
- I found the wheels and tires on my trucks to run smooth and true - and somewhat uncharacteristic for me, that is without gluing or truing them. (I normally glue/true all my Scalectric car tires)
- Not a big fan of the quick change front guide that is now the standard on the Scalextric cars, but after a little tweaking has been trouble free and providing good service.

(FYI - all of our running is done non-mag with these and typically only a small piece of lead is added where the factory magnet came out of and another small piece toward the front)

All in all, I have found these trucks to be a fun, slower class of car (or should I say truck) to run. I don't think that there is anything else in Scalextric's current line up that matches up with it's performance quirks - but when they are run against one another - they make for great entertainment!

Ok, so I just read and watched the review. This thing is nuts! Watching it run was quite entertaining. I'm glad to see Scaley produce lower-priced, fun vehicles that are rugged and run well out of the box.

Not my cup of Joe, but I can appreciate it and will happily hammer the snot out of it when I arrive at HRW.
