That its apparently faster right outta the box is gonna draw attention to it as much as anything. Thing is, isn't that what people want?
I won't buy anything I know ahead of time is a turd unless its to collect etc.

Well this is unfortunate.

The outer part of the rear rim is 13.7, the inner 13.2. This causes tires to fit poorly. For urethane users no biggie, but for silicone users, this a problem. Fronts are the same.

WTF Scalextric.

That's more than unfortunate. Must clearly be some mold issues. I checked mine on the one side and seemed about even and the Quick Slicks tire I tested fit cleanly for me.

When I get home, it's going under the spyglass again.

And since yours is that way, seems like a widespread issue.

I slipped on the QS 44 and it looked like a clean fit. BUT I can see just an angle.

When I put on PG tires, I just went straight to the Razor and trued them, so never noticed that slight angle.

Just a suggestion for redlynr.Try building up the small side with pin striping tape.I've been doing this for year's.

Just ordered mine today. Along with a set of PG tires.

OK got my 2 Javelins today. Did a little comparison on my Scaley Sport Oval tonight.

Mustang #33 Brut 1 magnet 20 laps 59.06 secs fast lap 2.85 secs. Weight 79.1 grams

Mustang #61 1 magnet 20 laps 1.00.03 min fast lap 2.84 secs. Weight 79.3 grams

Javelin Stock 1 magnet 20 laps 53.65 secs fast lap 2.56 Weight 76.8 grams. Had to let off in the turns while the Mustangs were run at full throttle all the way around.

Javelin Stock no magnet 20 laps 1.07.34 min fast lap 3.30 secs

Javelin Stock scuff the tires on 2000 grit sandpaper 20 laps 1.05.25 min fast lap 3.17. Hit the guide stop once.

In the no mag configuration this is as fast as my 2016 TransAm #6 Camaro which ran a 1.07.41 fast lap 3.29 with the Stock Scaley Motor and PG tires weight 86 grams

The #77 Challenger ran a fast 20 laps at 1.07.35 fast lap 3.28 weight of 95.7 grams PG tires 18K H&R Hawk.

For 2017 these two cars were upgraded. The Camaro now has a pioneer 18K motor and ran a fast 20 laps at 59.95 secs fast lap of 2.97 on 1404 SuperTires.
The Challenger still running an H&R Hawk with 1404 SuperTires fan a fast 20 in 1.00.11 fast lap 2.85

So the Javelin Stock no mag is as fast as the Camaro Stock. Put some good rubber under it add some weight and it should be as quick or quicker than the modified cars. I'll look to see if I have a set of 1404 SuperTires tomorrow and update.
