Love, just love these cars! I yanked the magnets and went with the stock scuffed rears (used drywall sandpaper) and they ran very well on wood and Carrera. These also have the deeper guide so no lead needed, IMHO. We run at 10V with PM controllers.

You know, we did test with the stock tires and can't say anything bad either. They actually hooked up pretty good.
