Thanks Todd and Broman, pretty happy the color was so close, that's Molotow chrome pen work, wish my hand was steadier. Once I get the decals it should be pretty cool, I'm hoping it flies and there's enough left to decal after racing Saturday :banana-dance:

Well Paul, gotta say, you done good for not only being the 1st time racing with us, but also for running your car for the 1st time.
While not the quickest (qualifying 9th out 18 entries), with a little luck, you made it to the finals.
And it looked really cool going down the track. Your worry about being able to lift the front end was quickly put away, as it had no problem carrying the wheels off the line.
Congrats!! :text-bravo:

Thanks Dickie, it sure was a great day of racin' with a great crew.
Still kicking myself for zoning on the tree, reaction time was like, next week. Jim got me.
Back into building today, can hardly wait for the next Go!
:banana-dance:
It can carry the front end for sure, we'll make her live up to her namesake!

Hey Thanks Todd, instead of not focusing on the tree I shoulda had Mike drive it!
Jim was quick with a wicked fast car. Gonna put her on a diet so I can put a couple more squirrels in the back seat for next time :angry-tappingfoot:
We had a blast! :banana-dance:

A very nice build , also like the drop down are , if you do not mind if I use that for one of my builds . I have a few of the DRS chassis . Also plan on building an adjustable chassis , using square brass tubing , and small nuts and bolts to hold the brass tubing together . Right now it is all in the planning stages .

Thanks, I'm most glad it's a good runner,
Yeah Bud the pictures are up for sharing ideas, it evolved from how I interpreted Dickie's Wild Willie,
So, go for it. I fabricate enough stuff around here, if all I have to deal with are set screws and motor screws, I'm happy

Build em up and post em!!

Can I ask a quick question . How did you make your bends and have the sides fold into itself . I am planing on building a couple of dragsters also . and use square brass tubing as a frame . I want to make the frame so I will be able to adjust it for other wheel bases

Hiya,
there in a post right after the pics on the previous page ...
"1/8 sq pinched (along) centerline with end nippers then squashed with diff diameter rounds (round stock and done in a vise) and I Sawed near the shackle ends then collapsed the 'leaves'."
Pretty easy....trial and see. I only scrapped one leaf spring.

Have fun man
