Finally had a chance to sit down and get these results up here (a rainy Sunday helps)

It looks like we had 120 cars entered overall, so a good turnout for sure.

Starting off with the Stock class running a 1.450 breakout, we had 16 entries. Matt with his Ford coupe was TQ with a 1.475 run. Running consistent 1.46x times thru-out eliminations, he would advance to the final. From the bottom side of the ladder, the #6 qualifier, a silver Sedan of Dickie's running 1.51x's earned the right to challenge Matt in the final.

As expected, Matt with a 1.4693 run, came away with the win.

Next up was the 1/32 Hot Rod class running on a 1.250 breakout. With 26 entries, we ran a consi ladder to determine would would be #16 on the main ladder. Itchie's Torino won the right to go against the TQ Camaro of Matt's, and promptly sent him to the trailer. With a substitute driver, Itchie's Dragster sent his Torino packing, In the semi final round, the Dragster got punted out by yet another one of his cars, this time his Mustang. On the bottom side, the #15 qualifier, the Black Beauty pickup belonging to Dickie, fought it's way thru to earn the right to race Itchie's Stang

With a 1.2725 time, the Black Beauty came away with the win.

Back to the big cars, 16 Comp Eliminator cars came out to play. Running on a 1.250 breakout, Cliffie's Fast Times Fiat Altered earned TQ. On the top side, #13 qualifier, a Matador belonging to Papa Mike fought it's way to the final. From the bottom side, Cliffie's other entry, a Willy's Pickup called the Shark, came thru to challenge the Matador.

When the race was over, the green light was flashing in Cliffie's lane.

With the breakout classes done, it was time for some heads up racing. Up 1st was the smallest class of the day, the Pro Stocks. Out of 6 entries, Matt with his new Iaconio Camaro was TQ with a 1.2923 run. With 6 entries, the Iaconio car had an easy time making it to the final. On the bottom side, it wasn't so easy, but Jim with his Silver Fox entry made it thru.

When all was said and done, Matt had earned his 2nd plaque for the day.

With 14 entries, the Gasser class was next. With a 1.2716 run, Jim's Terrible T nabbed TQ. With consistent 1.27-1.28 runs, he would advance to the final. From the bottom side, the sweet looking #3 qualifier Glass Wag'n Nomad belonging to Dickie would match up against Jim.

In the final, Jim got caught with a -.0005 red light, thus handing the win to the Nomad.

My favorite class was next. The Funny Cars!!

Against a field of 10 cars, Itchie's Plymouth Dealer entry with a 1.1367 pass was TQ. Just to show how close this class was, the #5 qualifier ran a 1.1463. That's less than .01 of a difference!! The Plymouth Dealer would get eliminated in the semi round by Itchie's other entry, the #4 qualifier called the Dusta. From the bottom side, the #5 qualifier Mongoose entry belonging to Matt (and the Spring Nats winner earlier this year) came up to challenge the Dusta, making it an all Duster final.

With a 1.1461 pass, the Dusta came away with the victory.

While the Funny Cars are my favorite class, apparently the Top Eliminator class is everyone else's favorite. We had 31 entries!!!! This meant we ran a 16 car consi, I don't have a record of who's car it was that made it thru into the #16 spot. But I have to mention that whoever it was had to go up against Matt's new record holder (and TQ) with the quickest ET time of .9088. How quick was that? The #2 qualifier was 1.9630, which was close to the previous record. Talk about shattering a record!! Bets are now being taken on who will be the 1st into the .8's.... Matt's record breaking car would not however, make it to the final. It got eliminated by the #5 qualifier belonging to Itchie, the Blu-By-U entry. On the bottom side, Jim with his #2 qualifying Chevy that he won this year's Spring Nats with, earned his way into the final again.

Now here was an interesting final. Though Jim blasted off a great run of .9584, he was caught sleeping at the light, and lost to a 1.0655 run by Itchie, giving the Blu-By-U Chevelle the win.


A great time was had by all, and we look forward to racing again at the New England Motor Sports Museum soon. :auto-checkeredflag:
