Altered Ego part 2

Postby btaylor » Sun Apr 02, 2017 12:23 pm

I had to build another little mouse to run with my other one. This one uses the same AMT double kit body, and my own brass chassis. Color is Krylon Zombie green. I ordered up some pro track 1" vintage front wheels, and bored the center to 1/16". this let me build my own dropped axle, and have independent front wheels. It allows much more detail than a tube and axle set up, plus I think they look really good! I used a H&R lightning in this one, with 9/33 gearing. The rear wheels are also h and r, shod with Shotgun Dave's perfect compound vintage slicks.
Guide is parma, with big mama braids, and uses JDS aluminum wheelie wheels on homemade bar. The driver figure is from Competition Resins, and is their Vintage top fuel driver. This thing is FAST! It uses the wheelie bar, and spins like crazy off the line. It should be quite the contender once the track is finished. Here are some build shots from start to finish.

I'll never catch up to you the way you crank 'em out, but I really want to build an Anglia to run beside those Fiats.

I ran V-8 Stock, but I always saw the A and AA Altereds. Funny Car guys have no idea what truly squirrely looks like! Those were the days.
